Selected work — Case study

Amy Lewis guides somatic breathwork from the Mangaroa Valley — online sessions where people slow down, breathe, and come home to themselves. Her work needed a home that felt like the work: warm, held, personal. Not a booking tool.

The brief

Booking software is built for gyms and salons — transactional, cold, all dashboard. Amy's work is the opposite: trust has to arrive before the transaction does. The health screening isn't bureaucracy, it's care. The confirmation email isn't a receipt, it's a welcome.

The brief: a platform that carries her voice from first visit to final breath — discovery, booking, payment, Zoom, reminders and a free library of guided recordings — and runs itself. Because there's no admin team. There's Amy.

Outcomes

1

Facilitator running a whole studio — no admin team

6

Automated email touches from booking to breath

0

Manual steps between payment, Zoom and calendar

24/7

The recordings library, open while Amy sleeps

The approach

  1. 01

    Trust before transaction

The design register was set by anti-references: not Headspace, not Calm, not a booking UI. Real photography, a warm serif, first-person copy — a site that reads like a conversation with Amy, because it is one.

  2. 02

    Amy is the brand

Her face, her voice, her words — one facilitator, one kind of session, one clear path from curiosity to a booked seat. No institute energy, nothing between you and her.

  3. 03

    Screening as care

The health questionnaire is woven into booking as Amy looking out for you — answer yes to a condition and the flow warmly routes you to her directly, before any money moves.

  4. 04

    A studio that runs itself

Book → pay → the Zoom invite and calendar entry send themselves → reminders arrive at 24 hours and one hour → waitlists quietly fill any spare seat. Every email in Amy's voice, none of them sent by hand.

  5. 05

    The living library

Evergreen guided recordings alongside the live sessions — free to everyone, with a gentle email gate only where it earns its keep. Small moments, woven into the rhythm of a day.

Technology

Web · Framework

Next.js + Vercel

Fast and mobile-first — most visitors arrive from an Instagram story on a phone, mid-scroll, half-curious. The site has seconds to feel safe.

Ops · Source of truth

Airtable as the studio ledger

Sessions, bookings, waitlists and offerings in one base Amy can read and edit like a spreadsheet — because it is one. No admin panel to learn.

Commerce · Automation

Stripe + Zoom, joined

Payment confirms the seat; the Zoom invite and calendar entry send themselves. No hands between the money and the session link.

Email

Resend email flows

Six transactional touches — confirmation, reminders, waitlist — from Amy's own domain, written once in her voice and sent forever.

The work

The live platform, and the person it's built around.
